The worst day ever.

July 25th 2009 will from now on be known as the worst day ever... so far.

This morning, our Waddles-mobile, aka, Emily's 1999 Jeep Cherokee decided to die. The battery was floating towards the light to rest in the afterlife, until later that day, but I'll get to that part later. We had to return a rental car by 12 noon. Well, guess what time we left. YEP 11:45 am, when we discovered the battery was gone. So Barrett and I crammed into Christopher's Jeep Wrangler and Christopher drove the rental car back to Enterprise while I followed. We filled the rental's tank and arrived at Enterprise only to find that it was closed. Bummer. I looked down and on the paperwork was the word HERTZ. We were at the wrong place (d'oh!) So we managed to drop off the vehicle with no fees. (*golf claps)

We stopped by an auto parts store on the way home to pick up some do-hickey that recharges batteries. So we brought that sucker back to life!

Later that day, we were hit by one of the worst thunderstorms I've been in. Luckily the power didn't go out despite the strong winds and heavy rain. UNluckily, Christopher got electrocuted! He was sitting at the computer minding his own business, when BAM! I hear a yelp and see a flash of light from the kitchen. I ran out of the kitchen and put down my ice cream to see Christopher holding his chest and gasping. He said he felt it go through his hand and out his feet. We were pretty frightened by it, but thankfully he is ok. He was shook up for a while, but now we get better reception on our radio.

To everyone that didn't know already, please do not touch electrical devices during a lightning storm, and stay away from your faucets!

Stay safe

The Waddles
